Support for Korean adoptees and their families

Support is available to Korean adoptees and their families following announcement of an investigation into historical Korean – Australian intercountry adoptions.

The Australian Government has announced an Independent Investigation into Historical Intercountry Adoptions from the Republic of Korea to Australia between 1964 and 1999.

For some Korean adoptees and families, this announcement may lead to mixed emotions and questions about their adoption history, identity or the process involved in their adoption.

Relationships Australia SA delivers the Intercountry Adoptee and Family Support Service (ICAFSS) nationally – a free and confidential support service funded by the Australian Government.

Our team understands the unique experiences of intercountry adoptees and their families and are here to provide support to anyone affected by this announcement. Contas us if you would like to speak to a member of the ICAFSS team.

Further information about the investigation is available on the Department of Social Services website.
